Asiedu Nketia's triumph has passed the victory torch to Koku Anyidoho of the NPP.

The election of Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, often known as General Mosquito, as the National Chair of the National Democratic Convention (NDC), which took place during the party's 10th delegates' congress on Saturday, has disappointed the former general secretary of the NDC.

Mr. Anyidoho vigorously opposed Mr. Nketia in the run-up to the election, arguing that if he were to serve as National Chair, the party would lose the following elections.

However, Mr. Nketia won the race to succeed Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo as national chair.

In the meantime, Mr. Asiedu Nketia has extended an olive branch to all losers in the party's just concluded National Delegates Congress.

He claimed that although they had lost, it was actually a sign that they were needed in different roles by the party.

He pledged that these candidates, who merely fell short of winning delegate votes, will be included in every human resource deployment decision made by his government.
