According to President Akufo-Addo, capital projects that have already begun across the nation will temporarily be put on hold but would unquestionably be finished after the nation has finished with the staff level agreement with the IMF.
The President informed the Western Regional House of Chiefs at a meeting at the Jubilee House that road projects in the area will receive the necessary attention since their importance to the growth of the country cannot be understated.
They say that the best comes from the West, and in Ghana's case, a sizable share of the nation's mineral resources come from that area.
And now, when discussion about the domestic debt exchange is prevalent, is the best time for the Western regional house of chiefs to contact the President to exchange thoughts.
The Chiefs encouraged the government to send his team all around the nation to explain the justification for the domestic debt swap and its effects on bringing the economy back into balance.
They urged the President to take quick action on the local roads that were being built.
The Chiefs were congratulated by President Akufo-Addo for their assistance over the years and given the assurance that important regional projects will not be shelved.
President Akufo-Addo expressed optimism that the economy will soon recover, relieving pressure on the local currency and releasing funds for the government.
