On Monday, some police officers and soldiers fought in Accra's Central Business District.
According to a source who spoke to Myjoyonline.com, some military personnel attacked a police officer who was operating a motorcycle due to a traffic offense.
But he was unable to escape the troops' wrath despite pleading that he was a Chief Inspector.
The soldiers are claimed to have remarked, "You are a Police officer, so what?"
The source said that the cops ran to Accra Central Police Station to alert his colleagues to what had occurred.
They pursued him, overcame the soldiers, and took one of them into custody.
The remaining soldiers made a plea for assistance. As the military personnel arrived, the cops opposed their attempts to seize their comrade. There was a conflict as a result of this.
The soldiers were initially seen pushing a putative officer in plain clothing in amateur videos posted on social media.The man was assaulted while sporting a helmet, receiving multiple slaps and punches.As a result, passersby and businesspeople in the Central Business District fled for their lives.The armed soldiers are seen in front of the Accra Central Police Station in later videos.
The officers then confronted the soldiers outside.The issue has not yet been addressed publicly by either of the concerned security services.
