Businessman Ernest Kwaku Kobeah has withdrawn from the race. He was one of four National Democratic Congress (NDC) members who selected presidential nomination forms.
He claims to be in support of the late president John Dramani Mahama.
The party has set Saturday, May 13 as the election day to choose the person who will run its presidential campaign in the 2020 elections.
Mr. Kobeah was one of four people that chose nomination forms to run in the primary elections.
Since then, each one has been examined.
When Mr. Kobeah appeared before the Vetting Committee on Tuesday, March 28, he was requested to come back with some paperwork.
Yet, he was glowing in his admiration for the Committee members, calling the quick process "successful".
After speaking to the Committee, he assured the media, "There is no problem.
The only thing is that I have to return on Wednesday. Everything is successful and in order.
Mr. Mahama, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, and Kojo Bonsu are the remaining candidates awaiting the Vetting Committee's report on their eligibility to compete in the primaries.
