After clocking 25 million views on TikTok, a music video from Chief One for the hit record Wotelewoea is in the right direction. Lawada Republiq teamed up with the Lion Group to launch official visuals for Chief One’s street anthem, Wotelewoea, an Ewe parlance channelling the can-do spirit.
Kabash Images, the Togolese video director, comes to the rescue again with a splendid storyline tipped to shoot the song’s visibility to higher heights for Chief One. With everything shot on location in Togo, the video would be the last Chief One is dropping for his fans to close the year 2022. The song “Wotelewoea” was produced by Hairlergbe.
Chief One has had a very successful year in 2022 with the release of his debut EP, Here I Come, followed by two new singles, Turn By Turn and Wotelewoea.
The EP propelled him into mainstream recognition after he went viral in December 2021 and early January with key endorsements and influences from Grammy recognised musicians and music influencers, like Gramps Morgan (Morgan Heritage), Samini, Shatta Wale, Rocky Dawuni, Reggie Rockstone, Obrafour, Giovani Caleb, Benedicta Gafah, Reggy Zippy, Elorm Beenie, as well as Producers JMJ (JR Music), and Cold Eye.Over 3 million streams of the Here I Come EP were recorded on various audio streaming services. This is seen as a triumph for a rookie who entered the scene one year ago without label support.
In addition to winning the Best Next Rated Act award at the 3Music Awards in 2022, he was also nominated for awards at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in 2022, the Ghana Music Awards in France in 2022, the Ghana Music Awards in the UK in 2022, the Ghana Entertainers Awards in 2022, and the Ghana Music Awards in the United States in 2022.
