After the earthquake that struck Turkey last week, Christian Atsu has not yet been located, according to his agent.
Two pairs of Atsu's shoes were discovered in the wreckage, but the player is still missing and is still being sought after.
Concerns for the safety of the Ghanaian international were raised after the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria last Monday.
Despite contradicting accounts of his rescue, Hatayspor, Atsu's club, has consistently refuted any allegations that he had been extricated from the rubble.
Atsu's representative, Nana Sechere, provided an update through Twitter and stated that the search was still continuing on but that some of Atsu's possessions had been found.
"Nine days have passed since the earthquake, and we have still not found Christian. Along with Christian's family, I am in Hatay visiting the earthquake scene. Our hearts are devastated for all those impacted, and the scenes are unfathomable," he wrote.
We were able to find Christian Atsu's exact room during my time here, and we also discovered two of his sets of shoes.
The only real proof of life, I've been told, is through sight, smell, and sound, and regrettably we were unable to find Christian. Yesterday, we received confirmation that thermal imagery was showing signs of up to 5 lives.
"Given the tough circumstances, we are grateful to all the Turkish and international rescue personnel, as well as to the local residents and volunteers, for their efforts and quick actions in rescuing people. However, we urgently want more assistance on the ground, particularly a translator.
