Christian Atsu, a former Black Stars and Hatayspor winger, has not been found 24 hours after being retrieved from the rubble, according to the player's family and agent.
26 hours after Turkey's first earthquake, the winger was reported missing until Turkish media announced his rescue.
Joy Sports was informed by Turkish reporter Yagiz Sabuncuoglu that the winger's health is now being checked.
It's excellent news, but we're monitoring his health because when someone is pulled from the ruins, it usually means they haven't had anything to eat or drink.
"Consequently, the individual's health is crucial following the rescue. We are following up with the hospital because of this.
A day after hearing of the rescue, the winger is once more untraceable. His agent, Nana Sekyere, admitted to Joy Sports that he had given up trying to locate his client.
"We are still looking for him and are really concerned because neither a club official nor hospital workers have been able to confirm his presence in any hospital in Hatya or a neighboring nation. He hasn't been seen in a hospital in the 24 hours since it was reported he was alive.
"I'm talking to everyone. I'm in direct communication with everyone at Hatayspor. I'm also in touch with the Ghana and British consulates in Turkey.
Francisca Ashietey-Odunton, Ghana's ambassador to Turkey, also told Joy Sports that neither she nor her organization knows where the missing 31-year-old is.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this country told me yesterday that they needed to establish whether Christian Atsu had been located, rescued, and taken to a medical facility. They are not yet certain which specific hospital or healthcare facility he has been transferred to, which is understandable given the circumstances [when you are saved you are put in an ambulance and sent to the hospital].
