The United States Vice President, Kamala Harris, has been welcomed to Ghana by former President John Dramani Mahama.
Prior to her three-day official state visits to Tanzania and Zambia later this week, Kamala Harris is in the West African country.
On Sunday, March 26, she landed at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
The US VP's visit, which comes after previous ones by US Presidents, was welcomed by Mr. Mahama in a tweet on Monday morning. Mr. Mahama said the visit "re-affirms the durable friendship between Ghana and the USA."
It serves as more evidence of America's rising interest in Africa.
